Derzhavin Tambov State University hosted an IT-hackathon. The organizers are Derzhavin University and its partner - accredited IT-company APPSOFT.

For nine hours, participants in the intellectual team competition in product programming developed a web portal with a personal account.
- We are pleased to welcome future IT specialists representing various regions of our country to Derzhavin University. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships between universities, exchange experience in solving practice-oriented problems, - noted Associate Professor Alexander Skvortsov, Head of the Digital Department of Derzhavin University. - For students, the hackathon is a real chance to manifest themselves, effectively develop their professional potential, and interact with future employers.
The participants of the hackathon were 10 teams representing higher educational institutions of Russia. Students of Derzhavin University, TSTU, Michurinsk State University, as well as students of universities from other regions: South-West State University (Kursk), NIU “BelGU” (Belgorod), N.G. Chernyshevsky SSU (Saratov), G.F. Morozov VGLTU (Voronezh), PenzGTU (Penza) and VolgGTU (Volgograd) demonstrated their programming skills in the competition.
- Our team has repeatedly participated in hackathons in the Tambov region. We have the second result in the Black Earth Region at the ICPC Student World Programming Championship. Participation in such competitions gives an opportunity to exchange experience and in the future to build a more successful career in IT, - said Alexey Emelyanov, Master's degree student at Derzhavin University, the captain of the team on sports programming.
The expert committee evaluated the work of the teams and their digital solutions according to several criteria: ergonomics of web design, functionality of the interface, creativity of the idea and protection of the project.
Based on the results of the hackathon, the jury determined the best solutions, and the winners were awarded cash prizes. The hackathon prize fund was 100,000 rubles.
The winners of the IT-hackathon were the teams of South-West State University from Kursk (Miron Istomin, Yaroslav Topin, Alexander Peshkov) and Derzhavin Tambov State University (Alexey Emelyanov, Grigory Shulgin).
The second place was shared by two teams of Tambov State Technical University (Marina Sluzenikina, Daniil Sidorov, Ivan Zakharov and Anatoly Kleimenov, Artyom Bocharov, Alexander Rumyantsev).
The team of Penza State Technological University (Denis Patrikeev, Victor Kazachenko, Denis Lupanov) rounded out the top three.

We were able to demonstrate our knowledge, creative approach to solving the case, as well as to receive evaluation and feedback on the developed solutions, - said Ruslan Bundyuk, the representative of the BelSU team, 1st year student of the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies.
