A new professional retraining program "Nursing in Cosmetology" is beibg launched at the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation of Derzhavin University. The program was developed by the TSU faculty with the participation of practicing cosmetologists.
– The professional retraining program is aimed at improving the level of qualification. It is targeted at specialists with secondary medical professional education, as well as those receiving this education in General Medicine, Obstetrics, and Nursing. It was developed in accordance with educational standards, – comments Natalia Chetyrina, Deputy Director for Additional Educational Activities of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation of Derzhavin University. – Before starting to implement the program, the University analyzed the rating of the most popular specialties. According to the research results, the area of Nursing in Cosmetology showed high demand in the region. Currently, students are being recruited for the first group.
The retraining program "Nursing in Cosmetology" will give students the opportunity to acquire additional theoretical knowledge, practical skills and competencies in the basics of dermatology and medical and preventive cosmetology.
The curriculum includes a wide range of topics in the field of cosmetology, the study of which will form the basis for improvement and further advancement in the field of medicine and the beauty industry.
During training, special attention will be paid to professional standards, features of the organization of the work process, infection control and patient safety of a medical institution with a cosmetology profile, and the basics of business communication ethics.
Students will learn the key rules for organizing a cosmetology service, master modern techniques for performing cosmetic procedures - massage, professional facial cleansing, mask and peeling technologies, etc., as well as methods of correction, physiotherapy and hardware cosmetology.
The course duration is 288 academic hours. The training will last 3.5 months.
After completing the program and passing the final certification, students will be issued a diploma of professional retraining for a new type of activity.
The graduates will have the opportunity to find employment in public and private medical institutions, the beauty industry - institutes, beauty salons and studios, aesthetic cosmetology offices.
