From April 15 to 22, more than 600 students of higher education institutions from Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and foreign students of Russian universities took part in the selection stage of the Olympiad, which was held in the form of testing knowledge of the Russian language. The Olympiad was held among students claiming to have a threshold level (B1) and an advanced threshold level (C1) of the Russian language.
The students who showed the best results at each level got the opportunity to participate in the final stage, which included a public speaking competition. The jury evaluating the performances of the participants of the threshold level B1 was located in Samarkand. The jury evaluating the performances of the participants of the advanced threshold level was located in Tambov. The young people had the opportunity to present their performances both in "live" and online formats.
Participants of the threshold level shared their impressions of famous paintings by Russian artists - V.M. Vasnetsov, B.M. Kustodiev, K.P. Bryullov, I.E. Grabar and others. Participants of the advanced threshold level were asked to reflect and express their own attitude to the designated issues based on excerpts from the works of A.T. Tvardovsky, whose 115th anniversary is celebrated in 2025.
The students demonstrated excellent command of the Russian language and knowledge of Russian culture. The Russian Language Olympiad has proven its importance as a platform for interaction between teachers and students from different countries.
