From November 2025 to February 2026, Derzhavin University conducted 36 professional tryout programs under the extracurricular activities project "Professions in Detail." Ninth-grade students from the Tambov Region participated in this program.
During the professional tryouts, high school students learned about the specifics of professions and independently experienced themselves as specialists in various fields through practice-oriented immersion and simulations of real-world problems.
The classes for the students were led by teachers from TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin. The professional tryouts were held in two streams. Through the automated registration system, 2,453 students registered for the first stream (November–December 2025), and 2,323 students registered for the second stream (January–February 2026). Many students participated in multiple auditions.
"Professional auditions are an opportunity to test yourself before entering university," says Artem K., a ninth-grader at Tsninskaya Secondary School No. 2. "I chose the Information Security track. In class, we covered theory and also solved practical problems: we searched for system vulnerabilities and learned how to protect data. This helped me understand that IT isn't just about programming, but also about analytical thinking. Now I know exactly what direction I want to pursue."
The "Professions in Detail" project has been running in Derzhavin university since 2016 and helps ninth-graders decide on their future studies and careers, as well as gain valuable practical experience under the guidance of experienced mentors.
