Pedagogical Doctor and Professor Nadezhda Kurilovich of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin participated in the 17th Eurasian Forum of Social Workers in Minsk. The symposium brought together over 250 international experts. Participants represented over 10 countries, including the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and others. Speakers included specialists in social work and rehabilitation, academics, representatives of relevant ministries, heads of international organizations (UNICEF, UNFPA), and heads of professional associations.
Participants discussed global challenges and innovative social work practices. A representative of Derzhavin University spoke to the audience about lean manufacturing technology in the provision of emergency social services. This unique methodology was developed and tested in the Tambov Region. "The social sector is fully supported by the state. Private social institutions have been actively developing recently; cottages are being built and provided free of charge to large families. Social support ensures a dignified life in retirement," notes Nadezhda Kurilovich, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor at Derzhavin University. "I shared with colleagues a lean manufacturing technology for providing urgent social services. It can be replicated in any social institution."
Over the course of two days, forum participants explored issues of healthy and active aging, the organization of social services, and child protection. Thematic sections discussed digital technologies in social work, the well-being of children and families with children with special needs, an integrated approach to long-term care, inclusion, and universal design.
During the practical part of the forum, participants learned about the activities of state social service and educational institutions in the Republic of Belarus. According to experts, this format allows not only for the exchange of best practices but also for the establishment of long-term professional contacts and the development of a personal strategy for practical activities incorporating international best practices.
