Professor Vasily Trofimov, Head of the Research Institute of State and Legal Studies at Derzhavin University, is participating in the 7th Autumn Scientific Session, held at the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus (NCLI) in Minsk.
This large-scale international conference, which brought together over 300 participants from various countries, is dedicated to governmental and legislative issues of our time.
FBI SCLI Director Andrei Matelsky gave a welcoming speech to all those present. Among the topics discussed at the forum was the relationship between legal policy, science, and practice, which became the title of the plenary session held at the President Hotel. A chief prosecutor of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Shved, gave an effusive speech on the genocide of the Belarusian people, while Alexander Savenkov, Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, presented a report on the criteria of statehood in the modern world.
At the forum, Vasily Trofimov is acting as a chairman of the contest committee for the "Young Scientist's Tribune" forum and is giving lectures to young scientists on legal education, lawmaking, and legal co-creation. A grant project from the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) is being implemented by fellow university scholars under the supervision of Professor Trofimov on the topic of legal co-creation.
The professor’s participation in the international conference in the Republic of Belarus is the result of collaboration between colleagues following the "Week of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin in Belarus" in February 2025. This initiative is a part of Derzhavin’s new project, "International University," aimed at increasing the academic mobility of tutors and scientists.
