Public defenses of projects took place at Derzhavin University, during which students presented the results of their work. Traditionally, students' work on projects ends at the end of the semester with a public defense with the participation of representatives of the expert community and customer organizations.
In the first half of the 2024/2025 academic year, Derzhavin University completed 127 projects commissioned by external partners, including 12 projects within the framework of the Service Learning program.
Project activities of students are an integral part of the educational process at Derzhavin University. Involving employers as project customers creates an educational environment in which relevant skills are developed and gives students the opportunity to become part of the professional community.
Students of the Derzhavin University majoring in Philology and Pedagogical Education (two profiles) Mikhail Titov, Ulyana Chernova, Alina Zugrav and Ksenia Kleymenova successfully completed a project aimed at identifying dialectal differences in the Russian language and creating word-formation maps for the "Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects", which has all-Russian and pan-Slavic significance.
According to the project manager Associate Professor Tatyana Makhracheva, PhD in Philology, the participation of students in the Atlas program in the format of project activities is another form of cooperation that became possible thanks to an open-ended agreement concluded in 2008 between the Institute of Linguistic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Derzhavin University.
– The students’ work on systematization and interpretation of voluminous dialectological material has high applied value, contributing to the presentation of a specific fragment of the linguistic picture of the world – the landscape – included in the program “Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects”, a fundamental and large-scale program in terms of solving research problems, – noted the customer of the projects, head of the topic “Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects”, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Dialect Lexicography and Linguogeography of the Russian Language at the Institute of Linguistic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Myznikov.
