Dear friends,
Today we are celebrating Science Day. At all times, research activity has been perceived by society and states as the most important and honorable mission.
Science gives hope - hope that human life will be safer, joyful and filled with meaning... And the stars will become closer to people.
On this holiday I want to remind you of one duty of every scientist, and indeed of any person - a duty that was formulated by Lev Landau. The great Soviet physicist, in addition to the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, developed the theory of happiness. A person, he believed, not only “can,” but “must” be happy. To do this, each of us needs three components: self-realization in work, love and communication with people.
Probably, the feeling of serene happiness is the most difficult for a scientist, since the same Landau said that “the product of optimism and knowledge is a constant value.” Nevertheless, let us strive to fulfill this responsibility, both together and individually.
Dear colleagues, let me wish you prosperity and public recognition, talented students, breakthrough discoveries and new exciting ideas!
Happy holiday!
