Rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev held a meeting with volunteer associations of the university. Volunteers spoke about the work they had done over the past year. In 2023 volunteers of Derzhavin University took part in 387 events and worked 28,505 volunteer hours. Medical volunteers of the University donated 19 liters of blood last year. Volunteers of Culture conducted master classes for rural schoolchildren and helped to restore architectural monuments. Volunteers of Victory accompanied patriotic events in the region and helped to improve military graves. In October 2023, with grant support from Rosmolodezh, students opened the first mentoring center in the region “Russian Language Volunteers.” The team taught foreign students conversational Russian and introduced them to the peculiarities of Russian culture. Based on the results of annual performance monitoring, Derzhavin Resource Center for Student Volunteer Initiatives “Boomerang” entered the TOP 10 best organizations in 2023. University volunteers won the regional stage of the International Prize #WEARETOGETHER.” Pavel Moiseev presented diplomas to volunteers and thanked them for the their work.
