As part of the "China Week in Tambov", which was held from 15 to 19 October, 2024, a delegation from the People's Republic of China visited Derzhavin University. The delegation included representatives of Chinese automobile and aviation industries, business structures operating in Russia, cultural and art figures. The head of the delegation is Mr. Qin Haifeng, Chief Representative of the Trade and Economic Representation of the Government of Shandong Province in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
At the meeting with Rector Pavel Moiseev, issues of mutual interest were discussed. The University is currently interested in promoting modern higher education and culture in China and in strengthening its position as a "window to China" for the Tambov Region. Our guests paid great attention to the opportunities of Derzhavin University for the development of economic ties between Chinese and Russian regional businesses, as well as the prospects for humanitarian cooperation.
– The leaders of our countries, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, are doing a lot for comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership between Russia and China in the new era, – comments Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University. – At our level, we are making a feasible contribution, and there is already an agenda. Chinese colleagues from Shandong Province noted that they consider the development of ties with Derzhavin University to be important for further expansion of cooperation with Russian regions, dialogue of cultures and development of tourism.
Today's meeting is one of the main events of the "China Week". This year it is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the establishment of Russian-Chinese diplomatic relations.
