The week of Derzhavin University in Samarkand is officially opened. The start was given by the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev. A delegation of Derzhavin University has been in Uzbekistan for several days now, implementing an ambitious program.
The first large meeting platform was Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov. As part of the “Derzhavin University Week,” the best lectures and leading researchers of Derzhavin University will give lectures and conduct master classes in history, sociology, pedagogy, psychology, social work, economics, tourism and the Russian language, as well as present master’s and postgraduate educational programs. There will also be an International Historical Olympiad for students of partner universities, and on April 24, a photo exhibition “Heroes of the Great Patriotic War and our Days” dedicated to the noble deeds of natives of the Tambov region and Samarkand will be opened.
At another partner university, the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, a new cooperation agreement was signed by rectors Pavel Moiseev and Mukhiddin Polatov. In addition, there was an excursion to the office named after Ismat Tukhtaevich Abdukarimov, Doctor of Economics, whose career is connected with the Samarkand Cooperative Institute, the predecessor of Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, where he was the rector, and Derzhavin University, where he was a professor. A number of exhibits were donated by his son, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of Derzhavin University Vyacheslav Abdukarimov.
“Today we are discussing specific roadmaps for cooperation with the rectors of parner-universities in Samarkand. So, there are agreements with the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service on the opening of a joint educational center for training personnel in the field of economics, management and service. In addition, Derzhavin University works in the field of public diplomacy. We initiated a meeting at the level of regional executive power between the government of the Tambov region and the Khokimiyat of the Samarkand region to discuss prospects for cooperation,” says rector Pavel Moiseev.
Cooperation between Derzhavin University and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan is currently being implemented within the framework of cooperation agreements with Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, Samarkand State Medical Institute, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Tax Academy of the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bukhara State Medical University named after Abu Ali Ibn Sino of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies. Currently 137 citizens of Uzbekistan are studying at Derzhavin University.
