From the bottom of my heart, I would like to congratulate all of you on University Teachers’!
University professors have always been authorities not only in classrooms. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution they have made to the social development and cultural life of Russia. Their pedagogical talents and scientific discoveries have always worked on the intellectual potential of our Motherland, thus developing and elevating the entire Russian society.
For more than a century of its history, Derzhavin University professors were people who constituted the intellectual, pedagogical, scientific, political and cultural elite of the region. Following the great traditions of the national professorship, they never stayed away from what was happening in our region and in the whole country. The University has always been the center of public life. By your efforts in recent years Derzhavin has become an international university, known in dozens of countries on four continents.
A university means classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities and other infrastructure. We are transforming the university to keep up with the times. It is your great merit that the most modern directions of IT, humanities and natural sciences are taught at Derzhavin University.
I am eager to see our teaching staff expand and develop. Thanks to you, Derzhavin University is a unique concentration of human capital. You pass it on not only to students and our society, but also to your young colleagues. Your work, in this sense, is a great contribution to the future of the University, to what it will be in ten, twenty, thirty years.
A teacher builds not only the future of the university, but also the future of their students, and thus the whole country. You give young people knowledge, develop self-confidence, inspire them to achieve their goals and teach them to be creative in everything. Besides, it is during university years that young people become responsible citizens, form their worldview and civic position. Here, too, much depends on the breadth of the teacher's personality.
I congratulate all the teaching staff of Derzhavin University on the holiday! I wish you fruitful work in classrooms and in the scientific field, warm relations with colleagues, as well as personal happiness and high professional achievements to each and every one of you!
