Representatives of Derzhavin University conducted career guidance events among students of secondary schools of the Republic of Abkhazia with the assistance of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo of the Republic of Abkhazia. Within a week, acting Director of the Medical Institute Nikita Voronin and administrator of the Accreditation and Simulation Center Anton Tolstykh met with 11th grade schoolchildren of the Gal, Sukhumi, Tkurachal, Gudauta, Ochamchira and Gagrinsky districts.
“During participation in the educational exhibition, which was held last year on the basis of Rossotrudnichestvo, agreements were reached with the head of the Representative Office, Dmitry Fedotov, to conduct career guidance activities in medical fields, since Abkhazia is experiencing a shortage of medical personnel. We came to Abkhazia to tell applicants about the possibilities of entering Derzhavin University, and so that the guys think about choosing the profession of a doctor.,” notes the acting Director of the Derzhavin Medical Institute Nikita Voronin.
The students were told about the university, its divisions, the rules of the admissions campaign and the conditions for admission. Master classes were held for applicants using modern simulators, on which students were able to try to perform medical procedures.
More than 230 potential applicants took part in career guidance events. Currently, there are 19 students from Abkhazia studying in Derzhavinsky, who are studying at the Medical Institute, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, and the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Information Technologies.
