The year 2024 is coming to an end. It was filled with important events for the University in the fields of education, science, international activities, sports, and volunteer movement. We are proud to say that we have something and someone to be proud of. It is impossible to tell about our achievements in one post. We have created a section for you called # итогигода (results of the year), where we have collected the main successes of 2024.
We begin our New Year's digest with Derzhavin students' sporting victories. After all, the outgoing year at the University was held under the auspices of the Year of Sport.
Alpine skiing. From January 15 to 20, the first stage of the Russian Cup in alpine skiing for deaf athlets was held on the slopes of the Abzakovo ski complex in Bashkortostan. Athletes from five regions of the country took part in the competition: the Republic of Bashkortostan, Kamchatka Krai, Tambov and Moscow regions and Moscow.
Svetlana Voronina, a representative of Derzhavin University, took 3rd place in the Super Combination discipline.
Summer Polyathlon. From January 25 to 29, Kaluga hosted the first stage of the Russian Polyathlon Cup in the sport discipline of quadrathlon with running. Ten teams competed for team medals. Among the teams of sport clubs, Derzhavin University team stopped one step away from the prize-winning top three. And Pavel Dudin took first place in the absolute championship, having scored 361 points. It is noteworthy that the Russian record in this discipline is 370 points.
Track and field. The XXXIII International Track and Field Competition "Russian Winter 2024" was traditionally hosted by the capital in early February. More than 140 athletes from Russia and the Republic of Belarus took part in the major tournament. Nikita Lenchikov won a bronze medal in the 400 m race, showing the third result in the final.
Cheerleading. At the traditional cheerleading competitions in Moscow "RUSSIAN CHEER OPEN" Derzhavin's cheer-mix team "TeamRise" took two prize places.
In the category "Partner Stant", the first place was taken by the pair of "TeamRise" trainers Ilya Kryuchin and Anastasia Sitnikova, and the top three in this discipline was completed by Derzhavin University students Egor Logachev and Tatyana Bukatina.
Kempo MMA. In February, the Northern capital of Russia hosted the World Kempo MMA Championship. More than 700 fighters took part in the tournament. Derzhavin University students, representatives of the sports club "FRONT KICK", brought 5 medals to Tambov. Nikita Lavrinov and Nikolay Stepantsov took first place, Danila Yakushev and Roman Dykin won silver medals, and Ilya Pokrovsky closed the top three.
Speed skating. Speed skating competitions within the VIII All-Russian Winter Universiade were held in Chelyabinsk. 16 student teams competed for the tournament medals. Derzhavin's team, having taken 5th place in the team rankings, was able to rise so high in the rankings for the first time, having recorded three medals to its account.
Derzhavin University student Ilya Ivanov won the gold medal in the mass start and the silver medal in the 5000 m. Anastasia Semenova also had no equal in the mass start.
Our team also showed high results in the team sprint. The girls (Ksenia Ilycheva, Sofya Godovanskaya and Anastasia Semenova) stopped one step away from the podium and took 4th place. And the boys (Nikita Barykin, Sergey Bukuev and Ilya Ivanov) came in sixth in the same distance.
GTO Complex. In the summer, Volgograd hosted the V final of the All-Russian GTO Festival among students of higher education institutions, with 399 participants from 50 universities in the country taking part. Among them was the Derzhavin University team, which won 3 medals.
Gennady Zolotov and Andrey Makarov won bronze in the long jump, and Polina Stelmachenko had no match in swimming.
Volleyball. At the IX Summer Universiade in Salavat, 2 teams of Derzhavin University participated in the volleyball competitions - men's and women's. They had to compete with 12 of the strongest student teams of the country in their tournaments. According to the results of the competition, the Derzhavin volleyball players entered the TOP-4, and the volleyball players entered the TOP-7. Ksenia Sokolova was recognized as the best player of "Derzhava" during the tournament, and Anton Podkopaev was recognized as the most valuable player of his team.
Regional Universiade. In September, the regional Universiade started at the sports facilities of Tambov region, in which students of Derzhavin University, TSTU, RANEPA, MichGAU and TGMPI named after S.V. Rachmaninov took part. The competitions in track and field, table tennis and football were held. In all sports, Derzhavin University students confidently took first places and currently lead the tournament table of the Universiade. It is noteworthy that the regional Universiade was revived after a long pause. Derzhavin University served as an example of the competition, where the Spartakiad among students is held annually.
Cybersport. Over the course of 2 months, more than 150 teams from all over the country competed in the All-Russian Open Cybersport Student Games 2024. Representatives of Derzhavin University, the team "DerzaW1N", managed to become second in the prestigious Dota-2 tournament.
All-style karate. Roman Nechaev entered the TOP-3 at the World All-style Karate Championship. About 1,500 athletes from 45 national teams took part in the major tournament. Roman won bronze in the discipline "sanbon" in the weight category up to 65 kg.
Hockey. Silver medals of the Vladimir Yurzinov Cup arrived in Tambov together with HC Derzhava. The traditional SHL tournament with the participation of 8 strongest student teams of the League was held on the federal territory of Sirius. Having won two out of three matches, Dmitry Zobkov's charges stopped one step away from victory. Derzhavin University student Nikita Korabelnikov was recognized as the best forward of the Cup.
Volleyball. VK "Derzhava" became a five-time champion of the SVA Cup final. The competition was attended by 12 student teams from Petrozavodsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Grozny, Penza, Yekaterinburg, Ulan-Ude and Tambov. The Derzhavin University team played 6 matches, winning all of them.
Several players from our team received individual awards: the best server was Evgeny Cherkasov, the best setter was Timur Konovalov, the best blocker was Anton Berezko and the best hitter, who was also the tournament MVP, was Alexey Klimenko.
Jiu-jitsu. During the current competition year, Master of Sports in Judo, Candidate Master of Sports in Sambo Danila Savinkov competed in 5 open all-Russian jiu-jitsu competitions. The tournaments were held in Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Kazan. At these competitions, in the weight category up to 94 kg (blue belts), the Derzhavin student took only first places. Since May of this year, under the leadership of Danila Savinkov, a new sport for our region has been developing in our city - Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Participation of Tambov residents in these competitions traditionally results in winning medals.
Prizes, victories, medals are not only the work of athletes and coaches. Behind the Derzhavin University athletes are their fans - classmates, fellow students, relatives and friends. Some win medals, others support them in their desire to achieve success.
