The All-Russian Case Championship on Human Rights is a team competition for solving legal problems, aimed at developing students knowledge about the current mechanisms for protecting human rights and freedoms. Organizers are the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation and the MGIMO Law Club. The case championship was held in two stages. The qualifying stage was in a remote format and the final stage was in person at MGIMO and the House of Human Rights. Of the 128 teams in the qualifying round, only 15 teams from 9 regions of Russia advanced to the final stage of the case championship. Three teams became the winners - from St. Petersburg, Tambov region and Moscow. The Tambov region was represented by the Derzhavin University team “Fair Solutions”. The university team includes 3rd year students of the Institute of Law and National Security Angelina Zhitneva and Daria Mincheva.
“Participation in the case championship on human rights was a landmark event for me, since for the first time we tried our hand at the practical field and applied our knowledge to solve systemic problems. The competition was attended by the strongest teams representing the country's leading universities. Competing with the best of the best imposed a burden of responsibility, but at the same time it gave me excitement, fueled the desire to prove myself and give my best,” says Daria Mincheva, captain of the “Fair Solutions” team.
