Derzhavin University is a participant in the project of popularization of the Russian language and Russian education in African countries, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, operator - D. I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Technology University. From 26 October to 6 November, 15 representatives of educational organizations of the Republic of Uganda are taking advanced training courses in the program “Russian language and culture in the context of modern pedagogical technologies” in Tambov. Every day, project participants in classes study innovative technologies for teaching the Russian language, new interactive methods of educational interaction, principles of teaching, modern linguodidactic tools, and visualization methods. The basis of advanced training courses is the original methodological materials of teachers of Derzhavin University: textbooks and digital resources for teaching Russian as a foreign language and studying Russian culture. Among them is the textbook “About Russia in Russian,” published in the federal specialized publishing house, and an online supplement to it. The manual became one of the best in the category “Best textbook on Russian as a non-native, foreign language” at the international competition “Russian Speech”, which is held under the auspices of “Rossotrudnichestvo”, as well as in the digital educational environment “Russian Language. The Beginning”, developed with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. Teachers from Uganda get acquainted with the national and cultural specifics of Russia, history and modernity, embodied in folklore, painting, architecture, literature, traditions, and natural monuments. Immersion of project participants in the Russian linguocultural and modern pedagogical environment will improve and intensify educational and cultural interaction between countries, will become a means of promoting the Russian language and Russian culture outside of Russia, popularizing and supporting the linguistic and cultural needs of Russian language learners abroad.
