The 3rd International Methodological School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture opened at Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. This is a large-scale cultural and educational project for international teachers of Russian as a foreign language. It is being implemented under the auspices of the Eurasian Universities Association. This year, the project partner is the International Public Organization "Center for Public Diplomacy."
The School will be held remotely. This will significantly expand its geographic reach and the number of participants—42 people from 17 countries in Asia, Africa, and the CIS.
"The School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture project was first implemented in 2024 and has received wide recognition among educators abroad," says Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at Derzhavin University. It is being implemented at our university at the initiative of Rector Pavel Moiseev as part of the "public diplomacy university" mission in international affairs. It is crucial for deepening cooperation with educational institutions abroad and strengthening the position and promotion of the Russian language outside the Russian Federation.
The project will include a professional development course on "Russian Language and Culture in the Context of Modern Pedagogical Technologies." Leading instructors from the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language will teach the course, introducing participants to their own methods. The School program includes lectures and master classes on traditional Russian folk painting, traditional Russian martial arts, and Russian painting.
