The Derzhavin University Educational Theater hosted auditions for the Instrumental and Vocal Arts categories of the International Performing Arts Competition "DerzhavinART."
During the preparation period, the organizing committee received over 400 applications for both categories. Over the two days of the competition, more than 500 musicians and solo performers from the Lipetsk, Saratov, Voronezh, and Tambov regions took to the stage. Participants demonstrated their skills in the following categories: Piano, Percussion, Folk and String Instruments, as well as Pop Orchestra Instruments. The Vocal Singing category featured works in the genres of classical, pop, jazz, and original songs.
- Every year, participants in the DerzhavinART International Performing Arts Competition demonstrate a high level of performance excellence. The unique atmosphere of creativity, inspiration, and live performance make the competition a unique event in the cultural life of the Tambov region, both for performers and for connoisseurs of musical and choreographic arts, - noted Tatyana Kozhevnikova, Director of the Institute of Economics, Information Technology, and Creative Industries at TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin.
The performances were judged by a professional jury: Marina Polteva, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Professor and Head of the Pop and Jazz Singing Department at the Institute of Social Studies (Moscow), vocal coach and director of the popular TV shows "Toch-v-Toch," "Odin v Odin," and others; and Marianna Russu, singer, vocal coach, participant in the project "Voice-12," and participant in the TV project "Zvezda-10"; Famous pop and jazz pianist, keyboardist, vocal consultant and arranger, participant of the project "Voice-12" Stanislav Akulov; director of the People's group "Folklore ensemble "Bereginya" Tatyana Drutskaya; Lecturer of the Department of Performing Arts of Derzhavin Tambov State University, laureate of international competitions Anna Sinelnikova; Candidate of Art History, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Piano of TGMPI (Tambov State Musical Pedagogical Institute) named after S.V. Rachmaninov, laureate of international competitions Maria Geints; Honored Artist of the Tambov Region, laureate of international competitions, artist of the Governor's Brass Band, artistic director of the City Brass Band named after Agapkin Alexander Koryakin; soloist of the Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments "Rossiyane", laureate of international and All-Russian competitions, member of the Domino Quartet, button accordion teacher at Children's Music School No. 2 named after V.K. Merzhanov, Alexey Pavlov.
The competition committee analyzed the intonation, precision, and rhythmicity of the performance, technical mastery, stage presence, expressiveness, complexity of the repertoire, and artistry.
Alexander Tifonin received the Grand Prix in the Instrumental Arts category, and Anastasia Makhotina won the competition's highest award in the Vocal Arts category.
Potential applicants who participated in the competition received certificates for 100 points awarded for the creative test upon admission to Derzhavin University in the Musical and Instrumental Arts/Pedagogical Education (Musical and Instrumental Performance) and Vocal Arts/Pedagogical Education (Pop Vocal Teacher) programs.
Daryna Yatsyuk received a certificate in the Instrumental Arts category. In the Vocal Arts category, Daria Shcherbatykh and Polina Yakovenko will be nominated.
The DerzhavinART International Performing Arts Competition will continue on March 28 and 29. Participants in the Choreographic Arts category will present their creative pieces.
