The activities of Tambov Sinophiles have been summarized in the leading Russian Sinological journal. The journal Russian Sinology, No. 2 (11) of 2025, in the section Reviews, Messages, Notes has published an article by Alla Verchenko, a senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Modern History of China and its Relations with Russia at the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICMA RAS), a member of the Central Board of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society (RCFS), A City in Love with China: the Experience of Reflection of ‘Tambov Sinology’.
The journal is published by ICMA RAS and continues the traditions of the academic journals Issues of China and Soviet Sinology.
The article summarizes some of the results of the study of the history and politics of China by Tambov scientists, as well as the activities of Derzhavin Tambov State University, local Sinophiles united around the Tambov Regional Branch of the RCFS and the organization White Elephant in establishing scientific, cultural and other ties with state and public institutions of the PRC.
