The Boomerang Resource Center at Derzhavin University has won the #WEARETOGETHER international award in the "Country of Opportunities" category. This prestigious award recognizes the center's team's long-standing work in developing volunteerism, implementing socially significant initiatives, and creating conditions for the self-fulfillment of Derzhavin University youth.
The #WEARETOGETHER International Award is one of Russia's leading awards for socially significant projects, implemented with the support of the President of the Russian Federation. The award identifies, supports, and scales up best social practices aimed at helping people, developing civil society, and improving quality of life. The award is organized by the Dobro.rf association and founded by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
The "Country of Opportunities" category brings together projects that promote education, culture, science, mentoring, patriotic education, and the preservation of historical memory and traditional spiritual and moral values. Particular attention is given to initiatives that help unlock people's potential, create new opportunities for personal and professional growth, strengthen civic identity, and engage young people in socially beneficial activities.
The Derzhavin University "Boomerang" Resource Center has been a key platform for developing the volunteer movement at the university and the region for many years. The center brings together students, faculty, and staff who implement social, educational, environmental, patriotic, cultural, and event-based projects. Boomerang volunteers participate in federal and regional campaigns, provide assistance to the elderly, families with children, and people with disabilities, support major social, cultural, and sporting events, and conduct educational and charitable initiatives.
Boomerang places special emphasis on developing students' volunteer skills. Activists are offered educational programs, trainings, volunteer schools, and meetings with experts, enabling young people not only to gain practical experience in community service but also to develop leadership, teamwork, and social project management skills.
