A presentation of the Center for Standard Legal Information was held at Derzhavin University as part of a special information and educational project of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus. The Center for Standard Legal Information was presented using modern videoconferencing capabilities.
The master class, conducted by Belarusian colleagues at our university, proved very useful and engaging for Derzhavin University students. It was entirely dedicated to developing competencies related to the activities of the Center for Standard Legal Information and introducing them to the methodology of working with the ETALON-ONLINE information retrieval system. The Center provides access to this system. Additionally, Derzhavin University students received an online lecture, "The Concept of Legal Policy of the Republic of Belarus as the Basis for the Effective Functioning of the Legal System."
"One of the notable results of the Derzhavin University delegation's visit to the Republic of Belarus in February 2025 was the establishment and development of scientific and educational ties in the field of legal science with scientific, educational, and state-legal institutions and organizations of the Republic of Belarus," noted Vasily Trofimov, Doctor of Law, Head of the Research Institute for State and Legal Studies, and Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law at Derzhavin University. "Of particular importance for the university was the signing of an Agreement on Scientific Cooperation with the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus—a state scientific and practical institution subordinate to the President of the Republic of Belarus. This organization is working to establish Centers of Reference Legal Information in the regions of Belarus, Russia, and other countries. Derzhavin University becomes the 12th in the Russian Federation and the 28th in the world to establish such Centers." The knowledge acquired by Derzhavin students today will enable them to fully utilize legal material in scientific, educational, expert, and other professional activities, and will contribute to the further development of Russian-Belarusian cooperation at the interstate, regional, and university levels."
