Nikolai Baibekov, Chairman of the Civic Chamber of the Tambov Region, met with students from the Institute of Law and National Security at Derzhavin University. He thanked them for their active participation in the work of the Public Monitoring Center during the September 2025 election.
From September 12 to 14 last year, the region held elections for the head of the Tambov Region and deputies to municipal representative bodies. During the election campaign, Derzhavin residents demonstrated active civic engagement and cast their votes. During the voting period, they also assisted the Civic Chamber in organizing video surveillance of the elections and monitored the transparency of procedures at polling stations. The students assisted citizens with disabilities, ensuring voting was accessible to everyone. The students prepared for this mission in advance: they attended training sessions on developing active citizenship, studied procedures for providing assistance at polling stations, and studied methods for identifying violations.
"Your responsibility, civic engagement, and compassion contribute to strengthening democratic processes and increasing trust in the electoral system," Nikolai Baibekov addressed the students. "We thank you for your contribution to the elections and your active stance on life. We look forward to further cooperation for the benefit of our region.
For many participants, the 2025 elections were their first. Having personally witnessed the transparency of the electoral process, the students expressed their willingness to continue volunteering in the future, particularly in the 2026 regional and federal parliamentary elections.
