The cultural and educational project "G.R. Derzhavin Tambov State University Week" has launched in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. A Derzhavin delegation, led by Rector Pavel Moiseev, will visit partner universities in three cities: Bishkek, Osh, and Kyzyl-Kiya.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin (Bishkek) is the host partner organization. Derzhavin University faculty will participate in roundtable discussions, give lectures, and conduct master classes on economics, design, Russian literature, history, pedagogy and psychology, defectology, and international relations.
"The official visit of the Tambov Region delegation began with the opening of the exhibition 'For the Glory of the Motherland, in the Name of Victory,'" says Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University. "All the peoples of the USSR participated in the Great Patriotic War, including approximately 360,000 Kyrgyz citizens. More than 90,000 of them did not return from the front. Duishenkul Shopokov became the first Kyrgyz to be awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He accomplished his feat near Moscow in the battle at Dubosekovo siding. In total, 73 residents of Kyrgyzstan received the title Hero of the Soviet Union. About 400 natives of the Tambov Region were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Victory in the Great Patriotic War is our shared victory. This was the theme discussed at the exhibition opening." The participation of Sergey Ivanovich Vakunov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, added particular significance to the event. Then began the crucial and challenging negotiations. We discussed the prospects for our cooperation in detail with Sergey Yuryevich Volkov, Rector of the B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, and signed agreements on international cooperation and academic mobility. The details of these agreements are being finalized during negotiations between the university delegation and their colleagues from Kyrgyzstan.
In total, cooperation agreements in educational, cultural, and scientific fields will be signed with six Kyrgyz educational institutions. Derzhavin University is once again acting as a public diplomacy university.
