Anna Naumova and Victoria Leontyeva, students majoring in Philology (Russian Language and Literature) and pursuing a semester-long course at the Faculty of Philology at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the Republic of Belarus, have begun their internship. This internship was made possible through the Cooperation and Academic Exchange Agreement between the two universities.
For four months, the Derzhavin University students will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the academic process at a leading Belarusian university. They will attend lectures and participate in practical classes in such disciplines as Polish Language, History of Belarusian Literature, Russian Dialectology, Modern Political Economy, and many others. In addition to the academic program, Anna and Victoria will become familiar with the infrastructure and internal life of Grodno State University and, of course, make new friends.
The internship will allow the girls not only to explore the culture, history, national traditions, and cuisine of Belarus, but also to discover Grodno, one of the oldest cities in the western part of the country. Students will be able to explore its historic castles, palaces, museums, and memorial sites from the Great Patriotic War.
"At Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the faculty and students are very welcoming and friendly, and the university is incredibly beautiful: the facade of the is decorated with maiden grapes; inside, the university displays awards for achievements, portraits of significant people, and several museums dedicated to the history of the educational institution. We are looking forward to many cultural events to better understand the Belarusian mentality," noted Anna Naumova, a student at Derzhavin University.
The partnership between Russian and Belarusian universities, particularly in Grodno and Vitebsk, is aimed at creating a unified socio-cultural and educational space. It expands opportunities for the popularization of Russian cultural heritage in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and strengthens international ties in the educational and cultural spheres.
