The traditional festival of Russian-Indian friendship “Diwali” took place in Derzhavin University. Today more than 400 young people from India receive education at the Institute of Medicine and Health preservation of Derzhavin University.
Diwali is one of the most important festivals in Indian culture. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This day is actively celebrated by national diasporas of India in many countries of the world. In Tambov the holiday has been celebrated for more than ten years on the platforms of Derzhavin University.
The concert dedicated to Diwali Day gathered both international and Russian students, fans of Indian culture. Ethnic music, popular soundtracks from famous Bollywood movies, and sparkling Indian dances created a real immersion in the history and culture of the country.
In honor of the holiday, an interactive photo zone was organized for the university students, where participants took pictures in national costumes.
