One of the stages of the National Forest Forum was held in Tambov State University. It was held under the auspices of the State Duma of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, the Federal Agency for Forestry. The purpose of the forum is to increase the efficiency of forest use as the national wealth of Russia.
The National Forest Forum is being held for the second time. This year, its sites will be the cities of six federal districts: Tambov, Tyumen, Perm, Yakutsk, Syktyvkar, Krasnoyarsk. Derzhavin University accepted the Tambov stage of the forum not by chance. In 2018, TSU celebrated its centenary. Among the first, in the university appeared areas related to the natural sciences and environmental management.
"I believe that the holding of the National Forest Forum in the Tambov Region is fully justified: not for the first year, the Tambov Region has been recognized as the most environmentally friendly region of Russia. Tambov State University has long been implementing educational programs related to ecology and environmental management, - commented the rector of TSU, Vladimir Stromov. - If we talk about forests, today scientists of Derzhavin University, together with colleagues from Voronezh, are engaged in forest restoration after fires. Science is always close to practice, especially legislative. We gladly responded to the proposal to hold a forum and fully support it".
Delegates from 22 regions of Russia, as well as from Germany, came to the TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin - representatives of government, business, relevant ministries and departments, social activists, scientists. Nikolai Nikolayev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee of Natural Resources, Property and Land Relations, and Anastasia Vinokurova, Deputy Head of the Federal Forestry Agency, took part in the work of the site.
