The construction site of the rental house of Derzhavin University was visited by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev, Acting Head of the Tambov Region Evgeny Pervyshov and representatives of DOM.RF.
The project "Multi-Apartment Rental House for Derzhavin University Students in Tambov" is the first in the region and one of the few in Russia. It is focused on creating a modern and comfortable living environment for students.
- Caring for young families is not only financial assistance, but also the creation of infrastructure, comfortable living and working conditions. Young families and their children are the future of the Tambov Region, so we use various mechanisms to provide young people with housing, including the construction of a rental house for students, which is especially important for young families combining education and raising children, - said Evgeny Pervyshov.
The agreement on the implementation of the project was signed in August 2022 at the Sreda dlya Zhizni Forum (The Environment for Life Forum). The developer is OOO SZ Megapolis. The designer was the Podolsk organization OOO Institute of Frame Design SMKproekt, which took as a basis the concept of the Archifellows tower (the winner of the DOM.RF Foundation competition). Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin is the tenant of the building.
The rental house, located at 181L Sovetskaya St., Tambov, is intended for Russian and international students, as well as families of students and young teachers with children.
The total capacity is 544 people. The rental stock includes 120 apartments with a total area of 6.9 thousand square meters, as well as administrative and utility rooms where Russian and international students and families with children will live.
There are three types of apartments in the house: one-room apartments - 44.41 sq. m for three students, two-room apartments – 63.23 sq. m for five students and two-room apartments – 78.69 sq. m for six students.
Social support measures are provided for Derzhavin University students and young teachers with children. Families with one child will be provided with a subsidy in the amount of 50% of the rent, families with two or more children – 100% of the rent.
The construction of the house is expected to be completed in the near future. The developer has already started landscaping the territory.

An important advantage is the location of the house in close proximity to educational, cultural, sports and leisure facilities, where everything necessary for study and life is at hand. This will allow us to create a unique university ecosystem that will facilitate comfortable learning and living conditions for students, as well as increase the attractiveness of our university, says Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University.
Pavel Moiseev told the representative of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev and the acting head of the Tambov Region Evgeny Pervyshov about the large-scale work that the University is doing to implement family policy. In particular, he presented the corporate demographic standard of Derzhavin University, which includes starting a family and having a first child during the period of study without taking an academic leave. For this purpose, the University creates all the necessary conditions, including a mother-and-child room and a short-term stay group for children, and provides family units in the dormitory. Derzhavin University is the federal operator of the "Help Mom Study" competition, which is part of the national project "Family". Mother-and-child rooms are being opened under this project. Starting from this academic year, the University will create an Extended Day Center, a School Preparation Center, and organize consultations with a psychologist and a speech therapist.
The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev emphasized that the development of university corporate demographic standards should be promoted. This will help to retain the students in the region, and ultimately increase the population.
