PriorityFest 2024, a festival of best practices of universities in the Priority 2030 program, has ended in Moscow. Over the course of two days, its participants, including rectors, heads of university project offices, experts, representatives of government agencies and businesses, studied best practices, analyzed existing problems and challenges, and discussed the dynamics of the Priority 2030 program.
In February of this year, the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Sociocenter announced a competitive selection of leading practices of the Priority 2030 program. 85 universities submitted 211 works. University teams presented their practices in research and educational activities, campus management, building cooperation, developing human capital and working with youth, as well as implementing strategic projects.
At the final event of the year, PriorityFest 2024, the Derzhavin University personnel reserve program "Future Teachers and Researchers" was recognized by experts as the "Best Practice in Human Capital Management".
– Derzhavin University, like most universities in the country, has typical problems – low attractiveness of the beginning of a teaching career for young people, a decrease in the share of young and PhD scientific and pedagogical workers, an increase in the average age of teachers, and the difficulty of relocating young scientists. In order to solve these problems, we have developed and successfully implemented the personnel reserve program “Future Teachers and Researchers”. Its goal is to replenish the staff of young PhD teachers up to 39 years old, timely replacement of personnel deficit, reduction of the adaptation period and reduction of staff turnover among young people, – comments the curator of the program, head of the HR Support Department of Derzhavin University Maxim Gavrilov.
Senior students pursuing a specialist's degree, master's degree students, first-year PhD students, young teachers without an academic degree under the age of 35 can become participants of the Derzhavin University Personnel Reserve Program. Moreover, these are not necessarily Derzhavin University students. Young specialists from any Russian university may take part in the program. Applicants are selected on a competitive basis, and an apprenticeship agreement is concluded with them, according to which young people must complete a training program developed for them, defend a candidate's dissertation within the established time frame and continue to work at the university after the defense. In total, 36 people have taken part in the program in the three years of its existence.
