The project of Derzhavin University scientists “Officers of the Tambov Region - Participants of the I World War” won the competition of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. 1,993,378 rubles were allocated for the project. It is based on preserving the historical memory of Tambov officers who participated in the I World War. The team - candidate of historical sciences, associate professors of Derzhavin University Sergei Lyamin, Vladimir Kanishchev, Alexander Pluzhnikov, Dmitry Zhukov, director of the university media center Ilya Kuznetsov - will implement the project at the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization "Museum Support Center "Provincial Estates"".
“On the eve of the 110th anniversary of the start of the I World War, we will create popular science content about the officers of the Tambov region - participants in the I World War,” says project participant, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of Derzhavin University Sergei Lyamin. – These are heroes whose names were forgotten for many decades. Our task is to tell young people about them and encourage them to study the heroic past of their native land. The relevance and social significance of the project is that this has never happened before - for the first time we are attempting to create a comprehensive popular science information resource dedicated to the heroes of the I World War.
Scientists at Derzhavin University pay great attention to preserving the historical memory of the heroes of the I World War. Thus, this year the University became the winner of the All-Russian competition of youth projects among educational organizations of higher education of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. 850 thousand rubles were won by the project “Remember the names of the heroes: the St. George’s glory of the Tambov land,” dedicated to the soldiers who participated in the I World War, natives of the Tambov province. During the implementation of the project, master classes will be held for participants - volunteers and students - on searching for information about fellow countrymen- heroes of the I World War, and patriotic exhibitions will be organized.
