The Cultural and Educational Project «School of the Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture» was launched in Derzhavin University. Teachers of Russian as a foreign language from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan participated in the project.
The Russian Language School was initiated by rector Pavel Moiseyev as part of the realization of Derzhavin University's mission as a ‘university of public diplomacy’. The meanings inherent to this concept are related to deepening co-operation with educational institutions of friendly countries and strengthening the position and promotion of the Russian language abroad.
The courses ‘Russian Language and Culture in the Context of Modern Teaching Technologies’ will be held as part of the educational component of the project which includes the issuance of an ordinary national advanced training certificate. The costs related to the course are borne by the University. The program also includes expert and business meetings, visits to cultural sites of the region, participation of the guests in one of the largest Russian ethno-festivals called ‘Atmanovskie kulachki - 2024’, the traditional games of which are included in the golden fund of intangible cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia.
The round table ‘Russian Language in International Space: Importance and Development Prospects’ will be the final event of the project. Representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, experts from RUDN, Pushkin State Russian Language Institute and Derzhavin University, as well as representatives of the School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture will take part in the round table discussions.
