The 7th Youth Forum "Galdym – Territory of Art" concluded at Derzhavin University. It is held annually as part of a joint educational program between Tambov State University and the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS). The main participants were students majoring in Acting at Derzhavin University and GITIS students. This year, students from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts also participated in the forum.
"The 'Galdym – Territory of Art' forum is undoubtedly a positive development in the cultural life of the region." "We hope to continue the collaboration between TSU and GITIS, as this represents a new vision of current developments in the country's theatrical life," said Yuri Golubev, Minister of Culture of the Tambov Region.
TSU Rector Pavel Moiseev confirmed that such creative collaboration is constructive and has a positive impact on theatrical art. For 10 days, young actors were immersed in a rich program, culminating in a competitive display of team works created during the forum. The final production, "Dead Souls," was based on the works of the great Russian writer Nikolai Gogol.
"At the forum, we developed creative initiatives among students, supported young talent, created conditions for their professional and creative growth, and enhanced cultural ties," noted Tatyana Kozhevnikova, Director of the Institute of Economics, Information Technology, and Creative Industries. "We regularly organize educational and creative events, workshops in stage speech, acting, and stage movement." We place special emphasis on working in small groups, which allows participants to share experiences and knowledge.
Petr Novikov gave a workshop in stage movement, and Natalia Goltapina in stage speech. Ivan Derendyaev and Irina Krugman taught students acting and the basics of directing.
