On the eve of the International Students' Day, Derzhavin University hosts the annual summit of international students. This year the event united more than 30 students from India, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and other countries. Leaders of the student community during two days will be trained in project management and will try themselves in teamwork to create project initiatives.
– More than 2,000 foreign students from almost 60 countries study at Derzhavin University, – comments Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at Derzhavin University. – Today, at the summit, the students will be able to introduce themselves, talk about their personal success and achievements, and share ideas and initiatives that will improve student life at Derzhavin University. Foreign activists of the university will take part in the strategic session “Derzhavin University – 2033”. They will be able to present the image of Derzhavin University in a few years. This is necessary for us to keep up with the times, to improve and understand what image of the university is formed by foreign students. This is important because we are actively engaged in the export of educational services abroad.
During the summit there was a meeting with the Rector of Derzhavin Pavel Moiseev. In the format of dialog the participants discussed the issues relevant for international students. These are the organization of academic and extracurricular activities, problems of intercultural communication, opportunities for internships, living conditions in the dormitory and the culture of student behavior.
- I have been in Russia for over 12 years. In Tambov, the atmosphere is calm and comfortable. This is very important for us international students,” says Nurzod Kosimova (Kyrgyzstan), a second-year student majoring in Dentistry. - I like the University very much, they give good knowledge here, and there are a lot of activities for international students. For me it is important to participate in something interesting, where I can show myself. So today, with great pleasure, I take part in the summit. I hope that the rector will support a number of my initiatives.
