The TSU NanoCenter has opened the youth laboratory "Means of Testing and Diagnostics of Materials and Finished Products." Alexander Zhigachev, a young scientist at Derzhavin University and PhD in Engineering, is heading the laboratory, two-thirds of whose staff consists of researchers under 39 years of age. Vyacheslav Rodayev, PhD in Physics and Mathematics and a senior researcher at the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center, serves as the project manager and experienced mentor.
- The laboratory's priority for the next two years will be the development of a universal device for determining a wide range of mechanical properties (hardness, crack resistance, Young's modulus, compressive and flexural strength, etc.) of various structural and building materials under normal climatic conditions and at low temperatures,- said Vyacheslav Valerievich.
The "Youth Laboratories" program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, implemented as part of the national project "Science and Universities," aims to create modern scientific spaces where young researchers conduct applied research under the guidance of experienced mentors. The project not only supports modern scientific fields but also develops the human resources of Russian science.
