Derzhavin University is dynamically developing partner relations with universities of Central Asia. These are the main results of the “Derzhavin University Week” in Samarkand.
Derzhavin University is of interest to partners from Uzbekistan in a number of areas. Firstly, these are double degree programs: to the existing bachelor’s degree in the areas of training “Economics” and “Tourism” with the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, joint programs in philology, sports, pedagogy, design and e-commerce can be added with the Uzbekistan-Finland Pedagogical Institute. Samarkand State Medical University is also interested in implementation of double degree programs. Secondly, it is improving the skills of personnel in the field of economics, management and services, including civil servants, thanks to the opening of a joint educational center. Thirdly, this is the cooperation of scientific teams in fundamental areas with Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov. Fourthly, all Uzbek partners are interested in intensifying academic and student exchanges.
An important event of the “TSU Week” was the negotiations between the delegation of the government of the Tambov region, headed by the deputy head of the region, Natalia Makarevich, and the Khokimiyat of the Samarkand region, initiated by Derzhavin University. They presented the export and investment potential of our region. The leadership of the Samarkand region expressed interest in cooperation.
“I am satisfied with the results of the visit to Samarkand. An extensive program of interaction has been outlined, which sets the agenda for the teams of our universities,” notes Rector Pavel Moiseev.
