In 2015 Kartik entered Medical Institute of Derzhavin University. He began to take an interest in sports in his first year and became interested in summer polyathlon (quadathlon). Before that, he had not been involved in track and field, did not know how to swim or shoot a rifle, but in a few years he not only mastered these sports, but also achieved high results under the guidance of coach Vladislav Kamensky. Kartik became the winner of the Russian championship among students, was a prize-winner of the Moscow championship, participated in the Universiade, won the "Zabeg.RF" in Tambov and the "Derzhavin Mile", competed in the national athletics championship in India, where he made it to the finals in the 1500 meters and ultimately took 11th place among the strongest athletes of his country, came the third at the all-Russian competition "Memorial Valery Abramov", won the half marathon "Luzhniki" in Moscow in 2023.
